MICROCRYSTALLINE CELLULOSE AND CARBOXYMETHYLCELLULOSE SODIUM

Microcrystalline Cellulose And Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium

Introduction

Liquid dose forms are a common and widely used way to solve the many problems of giving medicines to children, the elderly, and animals. However, instabilities like sedimentation, flocculation, and caking – especially in suspensions – make it hard to develop new formulations. It solves these problems by allowing a customized balance of rheological qualities to provide high content uniformity and long-term stability in suspensions without adding a lot of viscosity.

It is a one-of-a-kind suspending and emulsifying ingredient that makes a variety of liquid dosage forms possible. Our product may be used with a wide range of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) because of its stabilizing function, allowing for new applications and line expansions for current products.

BENIFITS

Convenience

  1. Dry powder handling is simple:
  • The flow is excellent.
  • Long-term shelf stability
  1. Handling the activated gel with ease:
  • Equipment is simple to clean.
  • Pumpability is ideal.
  • In both hot and cold water, it performs flawlessly.
  1. Stabilizer with a lot of versatility:
  • Over a wide pH range, it remains stable.
  • Freeze/thaw stable and sterilizable
  • It may be used with a broad variety of substances.
  • Other stabilisers are compatible and synergistic with this one.

Applications

It may be combined with a wide range of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), allowing new applications and product line expansions. Our VIVAPUR MCG is used in the following applications as a suspending agent, emulsifier, opacifier, and thickener:

  • Oral suspensions.
  • Powders that can be reconstituted (nasal, oral, or topical sprays).
  • Lotions, creams, and gels.

It Is Beyond Thickener

High viscosity cannot ensure reliable particle stability in a suspension since it just slows down settling. MARK-VIVAPUR MCG is a versatile thickener. It creates a three-dimensional elastic gel network of insoluble cellulose fibrils after activation in water, forming a yield point. The minimal shear stress necessary to commence flow is known as the yield point. If the force of gravity acting on the particle mass does not exceed the liquid’s yield point, the suspension is stable. All particles may be retained homogeneously and prevented from settling within the supportive network.

The Gel that Exhibits Fluid Properties

MCG dispersions lose their viscosity and become liquid when agitated in a time and shear-dependent manner. The following rest interval allows for complete, time-dependent regeneration of viscosity. This so-called “thixotropic behavior” allows you to do things like:

  • Excellent spray-ability.
  • Easy dosing with drenches and dispensers.
  • Accurate dose of oral suspensions.
  • Easy handling of the activated gel.
  • Ideal pumpability.
  • Smooth and comfortable swallowing.
  • Excellent content homogeneity.
